Aisyen
Malaysian Hijab Cosplayer
Salam and Hi, Welcome to our Hijab Cosplay Website's Online Interview! Tell us briefly about yourself in your own words that is related to how you started to cosplay.
I started hijab cosplay because I respect my religion as a Muslim and because wigs seems too expensive and can't be reused as much as hijab. Basically there's more cons than pros in wigs in my opinion. I also began cosplaying at a convention last year (2019) when I asked my dad's permission which he gave! (Thanks, dad) after my 2nd convention I realized I have some more cosplays at home so I decided to make a cosplay account on Instagram.

If you know me, I'm obsessed with Gintama. It's a long running one but it's worth it! For short animes I love Love is Hard for an Otaku because of its comedy or Blood-C for its gore and plot. Violet Evergarden is my absolute favorite too, especially the animations! It's just so mystical and breathtaking.

My friend Isabelle! She cosplays too but only during conventions. But the one who started inspiring me to cosplay with hijab more is Ai Nurul, she's an icon in the hijab cosplay community
Q8: Do you find Hijab Styling for Cosplay Difficult?
Depends! If it's way too complicated then I'd simplify it. Most of the times I use the same bases for every style ^^
Q9: Do you own your current hijab cosplay style or do you get inspired from other hijab cosplayers? (Youtube Tutorials etc)
Yes, I often tried my own hijab styling.
Q10: How many hours or days did you spend on average to complete one set of cosplay? you may elaborate if you wish to (ie: making the dress, props etc. before going to event)
Depends on the cosplay, if I'm wearing a complicated one like the AoT uniform it'd take me around 2-3 hours of preparation for conventions. If it's not then only around an hour and I'm done! But at home it sometimes take less than 30 minutes because I edit the makeup on an app (same applies to the wrinkles of the fabric)
