Hijab Cosplay Online Interview with Qiqi
Salam and Hi, Welcome to our Hijab Cosplay Website's Online Interview! Tell us more about yourself in your own words that is related to how you started your hijab cosplay journey. (You can write in your own language, multi-lingual is supported). Questions has been rebalanced for new and experienced cosplayers to answer.
My Hijab Cosplay journey started when I made friends with the local Malay ACG community. After 2 years, I was challenged by the editor of this blog to try Hijab cosplay during JOM 2019.
Q1: Do you have a special name, or cosplay name?
Qiqi. I was Qiqi before genshin came out! My Facebook page is Qiqi's Cosplay
Q2: When did you decided to try Hijab Cosplay?
Mid-2019, during JOM 2019.
Q3: How long have you been in the Cosplay community?
6+ years (Senpai)
Q4: Do you have a Cosplay page?
Which platform do you usually upload your cosplay images or activities?
Facebook: /qiqicosplay
Instagram: /qiqi.hiew
Q5: Are most of your props are DIY? / Do you like crafting cosplay clothes and props / Just online Shopping easier?
Some of my costumes were passed down from my brother. Some were bought or thrifted. One of my costumes was made from scratch by myself, and one was partially commissioned. As for my hijab Wednesday Addams look, I already owned the dress, shoes, props, and scarf.
Q6: What is your most favorite Anime? Cartoon? or Tv-Shows
Attack on Titan, Artiswitch, Devil Dolls, Yakuza househusband, Tenchi Souzou Design-bu, Uramichi Onii-san
Q7: Do you still recall of whom inspired you to venture and further improve your Hijab cosplay?
Mumu Arupaka 👀
Mumu: HAHAHAHA
Q8: Do you find Hijab Styling for Cosplay Difficult?
Yes, challenge accepted.
Q9: Do you own your current hijab cosplay style or do you get inspired from other hijab cosplayers? (Youtube Tutorials etc)
I'd like to credit Ms Rioka Aidid for helping me style my hijab, even though it was actually a scarf.
Q10: How many hours or days did you spend on average to complete one set of cosplay? you may elaborate if you wish to (ie: making the dress, props etc. before going to event)
It took a while for Ms Aidid to put the hijab on me, because the scarf was not suitable for use as a hijab, and I didn't bring any pins. But makeup definitely took a longer time.
Q11: Do you have secondary socmed account?
N/A
Q12: Where are you from?
MY ❤
Q13: What is your most favorite Cosplay / Cosplan?
My favourite cosplay so far would be adult Mikasa during AMG 2022. Although the costume itself was relatively simple compared to the actual character, but it was surprisingly easy to walk around with thanks to the elastic bands. Plus, my makeup was on point!
Q14: Do you also draw your own artwork? and what do you think of the recent A.I. art going on social media?
I do not draw as a hobby, though I am a graphic designer. I am of the stance that AI is a tool that can foster creativity. Creativity by definition must be original; that means there must be some human input to it. One can use AI art as an inspiration, or edit the AI art, but not take it as it is and call it "My Artwork".
Mumu: Agreed, since the Author of the Art only tells the A.I. on what to do, it is very similar to a Boss micro-managing an employee (the A.I. algorithm).
Q15: Do you currently have a favorite Husbando / Waifu?
Levi. End of story.
Q17: Do you have other past time hobbies? reading books maybe?
I don't read books anymore.
Q18: Do you have other past time hobbies?
Sleeping
Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
Playing guitar, and rarely Clay Art
Q19: What made you join Cosplay?
I wanted to cosplay as the characters that I liked
It just felt like fun in the beginning, that is how I started to cosplay
I got dragged into this by someone I know, but it seems fun so I stick around for now
I like the feel of being fabulously well known among my peers & it boosts my self-confidence
Q20. What type of hijab style you have tried before and even using now on a daily basis? (Bonus Question)
I have no idea what style my Wednesday Addams hijab look was. Can someone tell me?
Mumu: Perhaps it's like Cosplay Hijab Styling? Ok I add that into the answer options
